Pc's and Internet have Limitations and downsides, just ask ChumbaWamba

I was thinking about IT and how much i use and like it. But i also thought about the various drawbacks this new religion has. I could put some of these into my own words but why reinvent the wheel. ChumbaWamba has a song called "Pass it Along", in which they aptly state some of my reservations. Their song exists in various remixes with slightly different lyrics but i enjoy the Rock-o-rama mix the most. You can download all the remixes for free on their site:

LYRICS to "Pass it Along"

Pass It Along (Rock-O-Rama Mix)

I got blisters on my fingers
(Chorus)
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere, somewhere, you can never take me
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere, somewhere, you can never take me
Pass it along, sign on, switch off
Pass it along, sign on, switch off
Send this song to twenty people
Add your name, don't break the cycle
Pass it along by word of mouse
Save the world, don't leave the house
(Repeat chorus)
So here's your final resting place
Your heaven is protected by security gates
Shut out the world, it's getting worse
Save yourself, don't leave the house
(Repeat chorus)
Brave new world, population one, just pass it along
(Repeats)
Pass it along
(Repeats)
Switch off

Pass It Along (Beats Working Mix)

Let me feel it C'mon I got blisters on my fingers
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Just pass it along, sign on, switch off
Send this song to twenty people
Add your name, don't break the cycle
Pass it along by word of mouse
Save the world, don't leave the house
A virtual office in a virtual home
So you'll never have to drive through the wrong part of town
Pass it along by word of mouse
Save the world, don't leave the house Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Just pass it along, sign on, switch off
So this is your final resting place
Your heaven is protected by security gates
Shut out the world, it's getting worse
Save yourself, don't leave the house
A happy future is a thing of the past And there's always another repeat (repeat) Shut out the world, it's getting worse Save yourself, don't leave the house Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
(Repeats)
Brave new world, population one, just pass it along
(Repeats)
Pass it along
(Repeats)

Pass It Along (Albumesque Mix)

Let me feel it
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Pass it along, pass it along
Send this song to twenty people
Add your name, don't break the cycle
Pass it along by word of mouse
Save the world, don't leave the house
Because a virtual office in a virtual home
Means you never have to drive through the wrong part of town
Pass it along by word of mouse
Save the world, don't leave the house
Pass it along, don't leave the house
Pass it along, don't leave the house
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you can never take me
Pass it along, pass it along
So here's your final resting place
Your heaven is protected by security gates
Shut out the world, it's getting worse
Save yourself, don't leave the house
Because a happy future is a thing of the past
And there's always another repeat (repeat)
Shut out the world, it's getting worse
Save yourself, don't leave the house
Pass it along, don't leave the house
Pass it along, don't leave the house
Ah, where do you want to go today?
Ah, somewhere you could never take me
(repeats)
Pass it along
(repeats)
Brave new world, population one
Just pass it along
(repeats)

Pass It Along (MP3 Mix)

In a democracy the ignorant and meddlesome outsiders, the general population, has to be kept from interfering. They can be spectators, but not participants
No matter how much legal action you put behind this, people are going to do what they want to do
Spectators, but not participants
It's time to talk about censorship
Send this song to twenty people
And isn't it stealing?
Add your name, don't break the cycle
From people to people
Pass it along, pass it along
People like .MP3s
Pass it along, pass it along
How about trying this future on for size?
Well it's a one for the money
Spectators, but not participants
Well it's a one for the money
Spectators, but not participants
You can't legislate people's behavior
This is what we want to do, you know, if they consider that selling out, then, uh, whatever
Whatever
Whatever
The people who run Napster should be in prison
It's time to talk about censorship
Send this song to twenty people
And isn't it stealing?
Add your name, don't break the cycle
From people to people
Pass it along, pass it along
People like .MP3s
Pass it along, pass it along
The best things in life are free
The best things in life are free
And isn't it stealing?
The best things in life are free
And isn't it stealing?
The best things in life are free
Why does a consumer want to download music for free?
No matter how much legal action you put behind this, people are going to do what they want to do
People are going to do what they want to do
How about trying this future on for size?
Well it's a one for the money
Spectators, but not participants
Well it's a one for the money
Spectators, but not participants
You can't legislate people's behavior
Pass it along, pass it along
We don't mind when our fans pay money to wear our promotional T-shirts, and it's fine when they pay forty dollars to come to one of our concerts, but when our fans think they can listen to our music for free, they just crossed the line
